Cherating Beach Resort is one of most popular beaches in Malaysia even in Asia. This my another trip to the peaceful and beautiful with white sandy beach. Enjoy my video and photos here.

Cherating is located about 45minutes drive from Kuantan. Once a popular beach with hippies and backpackers, Cherating's thunder has somewhat been taken by the islands that have opened up to tourism in recent years such as Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang and Pulau Lang Tengah. But when it comes to public holidays and festive seasons ~ all the resorts, hotels, motels and apartments along the famous Cherating stretch are booked up way in advance. Catering to the local holiday makers during these occasions and also the extreme sports enthusiasts during the high waves of the monsoon season (November until February), Cherating is by no means a has-been holiday town. The backpacker huts, bars and pubs remain in business - although not as crowded as it was before in the 80's but many expatriates gravitate towards the area during long weekends of partying or just to chill out.
There have been a fair number of big resorts sprouting up over the decade that have taken up good stretches of the beach but there remains nice, clean stretched where the surfing community swirls up a pretty good time...

Fraser's Hill
Delight In The Cool Comfort Of A Hilltop RetreatFraser's Hill derives its name from one of the more colourful characters in Colonial history, James Louis Fraser, an adventurer and fortune hunter. Stories about his life, included rumours that he managed an opium and gambling den that was frequented by miners. However, in the early 1900's, J.L. Fraser vanished, never to be heard from again. Later, in 1917, a couple of clergymen rediscovered Fraser's Hill on one of their wanderings. Realising its potential as a Colonial hill station, they managed to garner enough support from the authorities to built a road linking the Kuala Lumpur - Bentong / Kuantan Highway to Fraser's Hill.
When the popularity of Fraser's Hill grew, the expatriate community at that time took to building holiday bungalows on the higher slopes to get away from the unbearable heat of the lowlands. Fraser's Hill at one time was the playground of rich miners and planters from the surrounding areas. One of Malaysia's earliest Golf courses was constructed on Fraser's Hill in 1925 by engineer Frank Hemmant.Cool throughout the year at average temperatures of 58'F to 65'F, the attraction of Fraser's Hill as a tourist resort has not diminished through the years.
Today, Fraser's Hill is popular as a site for company retreats and weekends. The golf fanatic will find enough here to occupy his days and non golfers may just decide to while aways their time horseback riding or simply strolling down the picturesque lanes that weave through the green countryside. The fresh mountain air is cool and invigorating and when dusk falls, the mist that blows in brings back memories of a simple, gentle era.

Here, wide gently sloping sandy beaches, lined with casuarinas trees, extend as far as the eye can see. The enamored and fabulous sparkling seas, pristine beaches and cool breezes made Club Mediterranean open its first Asian venture here, on a private beach. The main Cherating beach is the location of many hotels, reboots and chalets, catering for all budgets.

Colmar Tropicale Resort, Bukit Tinggi
My Vacation to Colmar Tropicale Resort, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia from 31st January - 1st February 2005.
Colmar Tropicale, located in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, is a replica of a collection of buildings from a north-eastern village in France dating back to the 16th Century. It's just like a picture postcard. The French themed resort was opened in July 2000. It's surrounded by lush tropical forest land. Just RM 16 for adults and RM 8 for children below twelve, you can enjoy the various entertainment at Colmar Tropicale. A clock tower at the entrance welcomes the visitors. You need to walk up (and down) curvy concrete staircases to view the entire development.

My trip to Japanese Village, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang from 31st Jan - 1st Feb 2005.
The Japanese Village is located at 3,500 feet above sea level. The first of its kind outside Japan. It encompasses a Japanese Tea House, Sakura and Ume Tatami Suites, and a Botanical Garden. An hour long authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony conducted by Kimono clad ladies can be observed at the Japanese Tea House located within a Japanese garden with mini waterfalls and a pond of multi-coloured Koi.

A one kilometre walk path built on four acres of virgin forest lies the Botanical Garden. Here amidst lush greenery, one can appreciate the sight of multi coloured and multi shaped floral and fauna, hear the call of birds and monkeys, insects buzzing and the fragrance of the growing forest. Signs with names and information snippets of trees, plants and flowers were put up for visitors.
